MORE Shots

Thursday, February 9th, 2006

I thought that it was bad last time. But now I’m starting to wonder what’s the point? I got taken to the pediatrician again. I’m starting not to like that guy. Not only did he hold my head back and show my parents my carefully collected drool under my chin for cleaning, but he had a nurse come in and give me shots. SHOTS. AGAIN! The same 3 as last time, too.

I got stuck 3 times. This time it was twice in the right leg, and once in the left!

I got HIB, Pediarix and Prevnar.

  • Pediarix includes vaccines for Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio
  • Hib is just for Haemophilus Influenzae Type b.
  • Prevnar is a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine

[sigh]

Shots

My parents didn’t tell me that there would be more of that! I got stuck with needles in each leg twice per day my first week out of the womb. I thought I’d seen the last of that. But instead, they took me to see my pediatrician (Nason Pediatrics) and he had a nurse put MORE needles in my leg. We went last Wednesday. Fortunately, my parents at least had the insight (someone must have told them) to dope me up with infant tylenol first.

I got stuck 3 times. Once in the right leg, and twice in the left!

I got HIB, Pediarix and Prevnar.

* *Pediarix* includes vaccines for Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis and polio
* *Hib* is just for Haemophilus Influenzae Type b.
* *Prevnar* is a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine

While I was pretty pissed at getting stuck, I calmed down pretty quickly afterward and showed no ill effects later. Mom and dad say they’re proud of how well I handled it.

Birth

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

I was born this morning at 12:50AM. I wanted to wait, but my parents and their midwife wanted me out early. We compromised. they got to think of it as Saturday evening, but I got to be born on Sunday morning!

My parents claim that they are going to write a birth story. We’ll see.
