The Wildlife Center of Virginia

Sunday, August 5th, 2012

We went on a homeschooler field trip to the Wildlife Center of Virginia. The Wildlife Center treats and rehabilitates injured and orphaned wild animals. The goal is always to return them to the wild, but many animals cannot be released. These remain at the center as teaching animals.

Today we opened the flower press and saw our pressed flowers. They were very pretty. My favorite was the dandelion.

We took a walk in the woods to get some more flowers for our press. We found violets, mustard, azaleas, redbud and many violets. We also found lots of flowers we didn’t know the names of.
